"Change the Equation - Link in Minority Technical Organizations"

The National Technical Association is pleased to announce its 83rd Annual Conference. This noteworthy event will take place in the Blackburn Student Center on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C., September 14-16, 2011. This year’s theme is “Change the Equation- Link in Minority Technical Organizations.” It relates to Change the Equation, a network of 110 corporate CEOs that formed after President Obama introduced the education initiative - Educate to Innovate. Through its network of more than 110 CEOs, Change the Equation pledges to create widespread literacy in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) as an investment in our nation that empowers us all. The Conference theme advocates that the Change the Equation link with Minority Technical organizations as partners to realize their STEM goals.

The Conference will consist of technically-oriented sessions, informative displays and a Career Opportunity Fair. Panel discussions, workshops, seminars and the presentation of papers will center around the theme for this conference “Change the Equation-Link in Minority Technical Organizations." Discussions based on this theme will expound on the ideas and methods available to the NTA and the minority populace to assist in diversifying the technical workforce.

We invite all individuals and organizations to participate. The event kicks off on Wednesday with the NTA Board Meeting and afternoon short courses followed by two days of professional and career development sessions, The Conference ends on Friday evening with an Awards Banquet. Outstanding minority engineers and scientists will be recognized for their technical achievements. Anyone can submit a nomination through an NTA chapter or regional director.
